Cat 3116 with Allison 7-speed. It’s a push-button transmission and has cruise control.
Spent the last year going through it mechanically. Does not have any leaks. Upgraded air dryer and cab air ride. The habitat has lights but work off truck batteries. Was in the middle of planning the electrical system. Truck is 12V and 24V. Has a place to charge electronics in the cab. Steps are welded in under the rear doors.
Custom roof rack and ladders on both sides with several different sets of lights. (Looked weird with only a couple).
Everything has been greased, replaced or updated mechanically wise. I did an 800-mile road trip a couple of weeks ago and had zero issues. Starts right up.
This is the nicest M1079 for sale in the country. This is not an auction truck, this vehicle was sourced from fire service and was never in military hands. Being that it is registered as a motorhome there is no longer the issue of registering the military VIN. Pre-smog makes it a perfect candidate for long-term domestic and international travel.
