About
This is the text you need to work on:
The project is now being auctioned: https://www.ebay.de/itm/395067783508
Due to personal reasons, I am selling my expedition mobile project. Mileage: approximately 22,000. Original registration date: 13.6.1977
I am selling the project because my partner who was responsible for the conversion went bankrupt, and self-organization of the conversion/outfitting is not an option for me.
***Cargo bed is now reinstalled***
***Vehicle is currently unregistered - test drive can be arranged with a short-term license upon serious interest***
Of course, there is some room for negotiation, just get in touch with a concrete offer.
The KAT 1 8x8:
Was completely maintained and is in excellent mechanical condition. I had the maintenance history checked through a BW (Bundeswehr) acquaintance. Lines were replaced, the diesel filter looks like new, and due to a minor collision, the vehicle was deemed unsuitable.
The slight body damage at the front was removed, the damaged front windshields were recreated and installed from VSG safety glass. The cargo bed was removed (but is still available), a temporary skid plate was attached on the side and rear for TÜV (German Technical Inspection) approval, and TÜV approval has already been obtained. The vehicle is currently classified as a truck.
All lines were routed under the frame, a compressed air boiler was installed offset to create more space for storage boxes and an additional fuel tank.
The driver's and passenger's doors were equipped with locking mechanisms with 5 keys.
The parts for the new exhaust system are already available - the installation of 2 silencers on the right and left of the drivetrain between the main frame was planned - the exhaust gases should then simply be blown downwards.
Furthermore, 30 liters of DINITROL are available - this growth-containing underbody protection is "self-repairing" and was used by the Bundeswehr with the KAT 1.
The between frame and cabin were planned by me to be very robust, all parts were prefabricated by the metalworker and only had to be assembled by welding. For the between frame, Hohlprofil 180/100/6mm (Hollow profile) was used, for the cabin skeleton Rectangular tube 40x30x3mm was used - the profiles were welded across to have a 40mm contact area for the outer cladding. The first insulation layer was 30mm between the profiles and a second 30mm layer was installed to eliminate cold bridges.
All openings for windows/doors/storage flaps were coordinated with Outbound as supplier. In the front area, approximately 2 meters were planned as a workshop/quad garage.
TÜV (German Technical Inspection) report, Abgasuntersuchung (exhaust emission test) and German vehicle registration document are available. TÜV was valid until 04/2023.
