After 2 years and hundreds of long work hours invested into the engine conversion and several performance improvements, I completed the full restoration;
neither easy nor cheap to bring it to this shape, but totally worth the effort. I am proud of the results 100%!!
Powered by a FORD-300 4900cc engine (in my opinion best fit for a 404), with new timing belt and oil pump, convenient power steering system and solid air brakes, new distributor/cables, lights, belts, hoses, etc. no leaks, good seals with new oils (engine, transmision, all 4 wheel hubs, plus front/rear dif. boxes all checked!). Great double insulation job on engine cover, does not allow engine heat/noise inside the cab (very little, if any, on a very hot day)
Good tread Michelins XL 12.5R20´s, new canvas (double layer military grade fabric replica), original canvas frame (like new!), new upholstery with heavy duty foam on both seats, wooden finish (exotic/rare Bolivian rosewood, both cab and truck box, detailed all the way around)
