The Chassis:
Building on the original capabilities of the factory 4x4 and front manual locking differential, we worked directly with LiquidSpring Smart Suspension to transform the driving experience with programmable ride modes, enhanced handling, and ultimate piece of mind. Single-piece aluminum “super single” wheels and 43” Continental MPT81 tires replace the factory DRW and ensure reliability and durability on any terrain, while maintaining the original GVWR of the chassis. The original factory head unit has been replaced with a 16.5” Linkswell T Style Unit with integrated backup camera, Roku, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay. *Buyer will get a BRAND NEW set of wheel and tires ($15k value)
The Subframe:
This was the first 6500 HD in the world to be outfitted by Globe Trekker, the most experienced expedition habitat and frame engineers in the industry. This custom 5-point torsion-free subframe allows the Chevrolet 6500’s frame to flex as intended separate to the habitat while maintaining a gyroscopic-like environment compared to the bouncing and sway of other comparable expedition boxes. Hot-dipped galvanized for superior corrosion prevention, this subframe ensures longevity, even in the most demanding environments.
The Body:
Globe Trekker habitats use an exclusively produced layup of R-17 insulation value in only 2.5” of high-impact resistant material that is non-absorbing and fire retardant. The extrusions are highly engineered with specialized channels and thermal breaks to provide the strongest construction in the industry. With an overall length of 22.5’, interior width of 7’, and interior height of 7.5’, a California King-sized cab-over boasts the tallest height ever produced in a box at 42.5”, allowing most to comfortably sit up straight while on a mattress. A walkable footprint of 112 sqft gives ample room for multiple rooms, sleeping arrangements, garages, etc.
The body is fitted with 7 fully opening European insulated dual pane automotive glass windows plus an additional opening window in the high-quality European door. All windows come with blackout/bug screen shades for your buildout. Additional windows and a large skylight are included in the purchase of this vehicle. A locking 5-step staircase with a landing slides out from underneath the subframe allowing for easy access with multiple modes depending on the available space and terrain.
