This 924 AF is a LK LN2 model, the same as a 1124, but with a GVW of 10,500 kg
Chassis number: WDB 677 184 1K2 13566
First registered: August 26, 1997
Mileage: 47,300 km.
Engine OM366 LA Diesel 5955 cc 177 kW = 241 hp.
6-speed manual transmission with rear axle and center differential lock, and of course reduction - low gear.
Wheelbase 3.4 m. (special wheelbase for Switzerland) 6 seats registered.
Axle ratio 43:10 i= 4.30 (fastest for the series)
This 924 drives 106 km/h with the original 255/70/22.5 (small) tires, so with larger single tires it will be more and the engine revolutions will be less.
For example, with 365/80/20 or 385/65/22.5 it will be around 120 km/h or with 12.00R20 it will go even faster.
The total length is 6,760 mm. including Taillift.
The long-distance cab is around 2.20 m. long and 2.10 m. wide without fenders, with fenders 2,280 mm.
The fire body is 4,150 mm. long without tail lift. LBW is around 240 mm.
The body has a width of 2,260 mm outside and 2,170 mm inside, the inside height is 1,580 mm.
The height of the cabin is 2.9 m without the extra sides. The height of the body is 3.0 m, without the extra sides 2.8 m. With the box, the total height is 3.2 m.
One idea could be to convert the existing body into a living cabin, as it has few roller doors and no pump is installed. For example, by raising the roof by 40 to 50 cm to create a good standing height. The Taillift can be used to hang spare tires or to set up a bike/motorcycle rack.
Of course, it is also possible to remove the existing structure and install a new cabin, if necessary with a wheelbase extension to 3.64, 3.90 or 4.20 m.
The empty weight of the base vehicle, i.e. chassis-cabin, will be around 4500 kg. It is possible to build an expedition vehicle under 7.5 T. GVW but then it must be built consistently very lightly.
A 4.3 m living cabin fits well on this chassis with a wheelbase of 3.4 m, a little longer or shorter will also work.
Trailer load: 13,500 kg.
