About
Toyota Hilux Mk6 2.5 D4D Platform with factory 'Winter Pack' Reverse Osmosis / UV water purification system (literally fill from stagnant pond and still get purest, completely safe H20); Multi-fuel slide-out cooker with self-locking kitchen drawers; Expedition compressor fridge freezer; 3000w 240v pure-sine-wave inverter; 13,500lb Military-spec winch; 170w solar (split) charging 214AH AGM batteries; ARB Old Man Emu heavy-duty suspension; rear diff lock & high/low-ratio box. HUGE FULL SPEC BELOW Based on the legendary, bulletproof Hilux Mk6 (What many consider to be the last 'true' Hilux - and the first 'car' to make it to the north pole), the vehicle was recently completed as a 'demo' truck for an upcoming rehabilitation program for ex-forces. Now it's done it's duty and the photos have been taken, it's ready to be passed on to a new owner to use as it was intended.
Demo / shakedown miles only since the build was completed. 98k total mileage - extremely low for year (2010), and considering its history and maintenance, means it's pretty much as good as new. A tub-off part resto was completed before the conversion and includes a rebuilt gearbox, new clutch, chassis prep and new exhaust.
Anything marked or less than fantastic was replaced.
This has to be one of the most sorted Mk6 out there and will outlive us! Built with love and care over the course of nearly two years, the truck has been overengineered to take you wherever you want to go, and to keep going! Interior cargo shelf can be easily be adapted for single interior occupancy if the new owner desires, but uniquely designed for double-hammocks for true travellers (where you can watch tele next to the fire!), or those who prefer the variability / adaptability of ground tents...
or, tow-behind one of those little teardrop sleeping units! This vehicle looks incredible and performs superbly. Come view or test drive, and you'll understand!
