About
This is the text you need to work on: My wife and I have driven this car from the Netherlands, via the West coast of Africa to south Africa, over the past 14 months. Recently, we found out my wife is pregnant and we've therefore decided to sell the car.
The car is fully equipped for an adventure like ours and for the off-grid lifestyle that goes with it. It's in excellent condition and we've maintained it with great care and attention. We've driven pretty much without any mechanical problems all over Africa. The engine is strong, in good condition, and because the car is from 1999, there's virtually no electronics, which we've found to be a big advantage in our trip.
We have also worked two days a week throughout our entire journey, which was possible thanks to the three solar panels on the roof in combination with the Ecoflow Delta 2 battery. We have a Starlink which gave us internet everywhere and which we could store safely and efficiently in the car. The battery is sufficient for two full days of active Starlink use, charging laptops and phones, and keeping the refrigerator cold, especially if some solar energy is still coming in.
The interior of the car is made of 9mm birch concrete plywood and was custom-made in the Netherlands before we left last year. This material has a strong top layer that makes it water resistant. The cabinets can be completely removed because they are mounted on cargo rails.
With a fuel tank capacity of 220 liters of diesel, you won't get into any trouble, even in Namibia and Mauritania ;). If you get stuck, you can use the two recovery tracks, the winch, high-lift jack, or the tow rope, and of course the low gearing. We have 2 spare tires, so a flat tire is never a big problem.
The car will be available in the Netherlands from April this year. We also have many accessories that can be taken over if desired. Think of camping chairs, a folding table that fits in the cabinets, the Starlink, a complete tool set, etc. These are not included in the price.
